ST. JOSEPH ALTAR

The statue of St. Joseph, with the Boy Christ the King, is of white Trani marble and is the work of sculptor Vannucci. The mosaic designed by Henry Jan de Rosen and executed by Maumejean, depicts six virgin men: Saints Pancratius, Stanislaus, Aloysius, Sebastian, Tarcisius and Emeritus. Above is the nativity scene. The altar front shows the sacrificial Lamb on the Book of Seal with angels at each side. This altar is highlighted by flood lamp in the golden tabernacle lamp. Each year many people photograph this scene for their Christmas cards. The peacocks in the ceiling above the altar are symbols of immortality.
