THE ORGAN GALLERY

The organ gallery houses the organ pipes, approximately 5500 in number, from the size of a pencil to the size of telephone poles. They are set in 78 ranks. The great Skinner organ has undergone refurbishing to restore and preserve its priceless quality, the console of the organ is housed in the sanctuary and can be moved to suit the occasion. This is the only original Skinner organ left in the United States. Only six were built. Others have been cannibalized to operate electronically. Was returned to factory, completely refurbished and rebuilt in 1991.
