THE BISHOP'S CHAIR

Another sign of renewal, and center to the area of the sanctuary behind the altar, is the Bishop's chair or cathedra, symbol of the Bishop's pastoral office. The work of Herman Brothers Studio, and far simpler in design than the original, the chair was commissioned at the time of the Cathedral's renovation. It is the only chair with a green cushion.
