ALTAR

In renewal, our carved altar of Spanish marble was brought forward from beneath the baldachin; marble flooring was relocated and matched in a move to a slightly higher floor elevation, 21 inches, where the Eucharistic sacrifice can truly be perceived. There are relics in the altar, two outstanding ones pertinent to the North American continent: Jesuit martyrs John Brebuf and Gabriel Lalemant (the latter a French-Canadian).
